DKC's LuvAPet Director, Claudia Bankston, had a one year celebration for three outstanding junior volunteers. The boys -- Teddy Herriman and John and Josh Rector -- started working school community service and liked it so much they have volunteered almost every weekend to help find permanent, loving homes for the cats and kittens in the adoption center.

These boys donate catnip, toys, scratching posts and other playground equipment for the furry residents. They work with difficult, shy, frightened cats and hold and love them for hours. These boys are naturals when it comes to working with cats.

They proudly display their DKC t-shirts and we proudly acknowledge the dedication of this junior team.

The LuvAPet center, located in the Petsmart at Forest and Inwood, is an offsite adoption center, featuring DKC cats and kittens. We always need volunteers to visit the animals in residence and help with their care as well as interacting with potential adopters.
