Gordo is a two year old full blooded bulldog. He was at home, minding his own business, recovering from eye surgery, when his owner hit him with her car -- and decided not to incur the expense of repairing his broken leg.
The vet's office contacted us asking if we would save the dog, because while a broken leg may be expensive, it is not a reason to put him to sleep.
Vet is evaluating whether they can save the leg or will do an amputation. So sweet Gordo really needs a Guardian Angel. Can you help us help him -- first on the road to recovery and then into a forever home?
Update on 9/21: Sweet little Gordo (64# large!) has a compound fracture of his left rear leg. One break is too high for the vet to comfortably pin it and hope to save it, so Gordo will have an amputation, scheduled tomorrow. Despite his trauma, he has been a great guest in his foster home and appears to love kids and other animals.
