SMU's Project Management class requires the students do a project for a non-profit of their choosing. Three students (Evan Godwin, Samantha Watkins, and Alex Walker) chose Dog & Kitty City as their non-profit and decided on a 5K fun run as the project. In Evan’s own words, "We all love animals and all have the belief that since they cannot help themselves, we must be there for them." High-fives all around! Dogs are welcome to run, they have a DJ, and it promises to be a really fun morning!
The event takes place on Saturday November 13 at Burleson Park in University Park (between the SMU campus and Central on University). Arrival time is 8 am, the race starts at 9 and is expected to last until 11. The registration fee is $20 for preregistered runners and $25 for race day runners. Register here to run! If you wish, you can also RSVP on Facebook on the event page.
We will have adoptable dogs who are looking for a good home at the event. All proceeds will be donated to Dog & Kitty City to assist with medical supplies, food, and many other necessities. Join us at the Paw Parade & 5K Fun Run (with or without your canine friend) to show your support for these animals!
