I've been in my new home for two years now and I wanted all of you to know
that I'm living the high life! I am treated to endless cuddles and rubbies
and have quite the catnip mouse collection. My family adopted a little dog
which (I'll tell you - but please don't tell the other cats) I get along
with famously. I'm still King of the house and spend most of my time curled
up on a lap, relaxing by a warm fire, or fetching the dog's toys when I
feel like it. I talk a lot and my people are starting to learn my language.
My forever home couldn't dream of life without me and I just wanted to let
all of you at Dog and Kitty City know how happy we all are! Mom saw Jasmine
at Petsmart and fell in love with her but with a baby due in two months
it's not the best time for a new adoption. I've hung out with Mom's nieces
and nephews and she knows I'll make an excellent "brother from another
mother" for the new baby as long as she keeps giving me lots of love and
attention. She'll keep her eye on Jasmine though and put the word out about
her!!

Just wanted to let you know that we have had a very good day and half so far with Oliver. He is getting much more comfortable with his surroundings, and he's much much more comfortable with our two goldens.
We took everything step by step, never having anyone out of our sight, we gradually, one at a time, did the leashes off thing both inside the house and out, and now they are frolicking around the backyard like they've known each other for months.
We've had 3 or 4 walks around the neighborhood with all 3 dogs and they do fabulous on the walks and then all the activity is making for some very good sit-around-quiet time as well.
Oliver is doing fine with the Science Diet food, he is drinking a lot of water (we've had to make sure to keep toilets closed, though, he is quite fond of trying to use those as a water bowl), and generally he just looks so happy and comfortable now.
I'm sure there is still much learning to do, but to let you know that we definitely are happy with him and we think this is all working much better much quicker than we thought. Oliver is getting everyone more exercise, which is a very good thing and a primary reason we were interested in an active young dog.
He just got a bath in the bathtub and did really well with that too.
Maya, known as Petra at the shelter, was adopted in October 2010. Here she is in Florida, enjoying her little bean bag for napping, playing with her buddy Phineas, and on the way to get her nails done!
Attached are images of Bella, who was known as "Kendall" when she was at the Humane Society. She's a doll! She is seven months old now and weighs about 35 pounds. (Her next vet appointment is on Jan. 31 and I will know for sure how much she weighs then.) Thanks so much.
Here are a few recent pictures of Betsy. As you can see, she loves
walking at the park! She had her teeth cleaned yesterday and was a very
good girl at the vet. Her teeth look beautiful now and she is already
begging for crunchy biscuits! We took her to our friend's house on
Christmas and she was the star of the party, playing with everyone and she made friends with their aged golden retriever. We kept her first name as "Betsy" but gave her the middle name "Bean" because she looks like a little stringbean.
