Georgia is a sweet dog who hasn't really had sweet times. She was found in mid July with a broken leg next to a lake. Her rescuer, a lady traveling here from England, was touched by Georgia's pain and took her to the vet to get her leg cared for. Then Georgia was brought to us. She needs a foster home or, even better, a home of her own, but while she's with us she needs a Guardian Angel. If you'd like to help her, please choose her in our Guardian Angel donation program!

Year-to-date we have rescued 194 kittens and 16 moms. 71 kittens remain to be adopted, but this feature is about the moms.

Traditionally the momma cats get overlooked as everyone falls in love with the babies. We have some spectacular momma cats, who were really good moms and deserve a chance for a special forever home of their own.

First featured mom is Uppity. Her foster mom, Doree, and special care giver, Kathryn, asked that we issue a special appeal for this special girl.

She came to us in June with a family of five: Upton, Upshaw, Urchin, Umberto and Uranus. Mom and baby Uranus are still waiting to be adopted. Uppity is a calico with a siamese strain who is about 2 years old. The family was rescued from a kill shelter because the babies were too young to be put up for adoption. She is a sweet cat who lavished love and attention on her babies, but is now ready to share her affection with you. Uppity purrs a lot and talks. Yes, TALKS!
