Recently some Dallas travelers made a stop in Oklahoma for gas, and little Hanz was sitting there, looking forlorn, wondering where his family went -- without him. Yes, he had been dropped off several days earlier –what an awful thing to do to this precious dog.

His rescuers asked us to help so the little guy came to the shelter – he was heartworm positive and with cherry eye - maybe he was abandoned because he needed medical care they could not provide. He has since been treated and is in a loving foster home while he adjusts to being a Texan.

Hanz's foster mom reports that this boy is now housebroken, very intelligent, has tons of energy and learns and adapts quickly. He is a good watch dog and will alert at night if he hears noises, is great with other dogs but a little nervous around cats – he is very friendly and likes people. A little lap dog, he loves to be held and enjoys playing with his toy bone. Hanz is also somewhat of a trick artist - he does a very good job of covering himself up with his blanket at night!!!

Hanz is doing extremely well and all recent heartworm tests have been negative.
