Kiwi is a black beauty with some impressive mitten paws (aka polydactyl = having more than the usual number of toes!). Cats with this distinguishing feature are also referred to as Hemingway cats, on account of the famous author taking a special liking to them. And did you know that once upon a time, sailors considered polydactyl cats good luck when at sea?

We're not saying Kiwi is a sailing cat, by any means. In fact, he is a serious lap cat. He's a talker and a snuggler (not to mention purring machine) and is friendly with other cats. While the shelter has always been his home, he might be very happy to find a forever home to call his own. Might he become *your* new friend too?
