Runner and her “sister” Sister were rescued by a caring family after they were found running loose in their neighborhood. They were nurtured back to health and now they are ready for adoption.
Runner is sweet, shy, obedient, smart and loving; she would do best in a calm, predictable setting with mostly all women- someone who wants a devoted companion. She is not aggressive, gets along with cats and other dogs. She wants to be someone's devoted companion and has tried on occasion to climb onto the lap of her foster mom just to be cuddled!!
Runner has a strikingly beautiful coat that is short and doesn't shed. She has learned lots of commands quickly because of her desire to please and when left alone, she'll find a covered (safe) place to curl up for a nap. Runner had a hard life before she was rescued and was so starved when found that she didn't have the energy to play and now will hoard her toys in her chosen "safe hiding spot". She is scared of men but if they move in calm ways, will accept them over time.
This dog is FAST and her foster family says it’s a joy to watch her streak across the schoolyard where she goes to run - she runs for the pure joy of it; she is also good a somersaults- jumping for toys and would probably be very good at frisbee or similar sport. Her foster family is working with her on her fear of men and her good doggie manners.
Runner is in a foster home and not at the shelter and If you would like to meet or ask other questions about this little speedster, please contact
