Kellary is a lucky dog - he was taken from another shelter where his time was up.
He is a mix of two of the most intelligent and active breeds - the Border Collie and Australian Shepherd. They are known to be kind, loving dogs who are devoted to their owners. Quick to learn and with a love for play, they do better in homes that give them daily exercise and stimulation.
Kellary has learned to “sit”, absolutely loves to get out and go on his walks, likes to be petted and brushed and of course will not turn away from scratches on his head and chin. He enjoys playing with balls, he's pretty good at soccer and it seems he might learn to be a good agility dog because he has good focus and drive. He also loves the water and frequently gets in the pool.
He's an easy going dog just wanting to be loved!! There is no doubt, Kellary will make a faithful companion – he is just looking for a home where he will get a reasonable amount of exercise and lots of love and attention. Our Kellary continues to be a volunteer favorite and he really is a great little dog just biding his time until that special someone recognizes all that he has to offer.
Kellary went on an overnight trip with one of the volunteers recently and was reported to be the most well behaved dog in the world!!! He went with them for a run to White Rock Lake, which he very much enjoyed, not only did he run very well on the leash but did not go after birds and was perfect with bikers and runners at the lake. He did not get on the furniture, did not bark and even went to dinner at a restaurant where he continued his good behavior. Kellary is also particiating in a Rallo O training session with one of our volunteers where it is reported he is doing excellent!!
