Gigi - Right at Home!
Sunday, 17 April 2011

I thought you'd like to see these so you know she's doing great. She loves to pull my clothes out of the laundry and drag my shoes around although they are sometimes pretty heavy. She also likes to sun herself outside on the patio furniture. She's quite the little diva!

Anyway, thank you again for helping me to adopt her. I love her to pieces.

Spoiled Henry
Saturday, 16 April 2011

Henry is doing great! He's spoiled to death and is so happy in our new home....I love him so much. I hope all is well for you and everyone at the shelter. I will continue to stay in touch as I'm eternally grateful for what you did for me in October.

Georgia Is a Joy
Sunday, 10 April 2011

Just a quick update on Georgia - she is doing great. I tried to get a few pictures of her with her new brothers. I caught one of her on the bed with my cat Barsik, they are lying back-to-back. I also caught them snuggling the other night, but wasn't able to get a pic. Here is another shot with all three of them (Barsik, Georgia, and Pinon) on the bed. She is a joy!

Just Boys Being Boys
Sunday, 03 April 2011

I hope all is well. I thought you all would like to see some pictures of Andrew. We went to visit my parents a few weeks ago and he quickly became best friends with their dog (who has always gotten along with cats anyway). They were so cute together; they rubbed noses, ate one another's food, and Andrew's favorite thing was to jump out from around the corner and scare Riley as he walked by. Those two boys were hilarious! Andrew is a sassy little fellow and keeps Riley in line! We are going to visit my parents again soon so Andrew can see his new bff.

Happy Ginger
Sunday, 13 March 2011

Oh my goodness! She is a great dog! She hasn't once done any of her business in the house! She always goes outside to do it and she loves to go for walks! She sits by the front door and waits for us to put her leash on her! She has been sleeping all night in her crate and hasn't barked or whined. The kids have been very good about meeting her needs. It's been a learning experience for them! If a happy dog is a tired dog then she should be plenty happy! The kids really play with her a lot. She is so tired at night, by 8pm she is asleep next to the sofa! So far so good!!!!!

Layla - the Highlight of Her Family's Day
Tuesday, 08 March 2011

I just wanted to let you guys know how Pippi or Piper is doing. Her new name is Layla and I adore her, she is the highlight of my day. She loves for me to rub her belly, she rolls over on her own and waits for me to start rubbing. She is so much fun! She soaks up all the Love I have to give her. She even sleeps with us. Thanks for allowing me to make her a part of our lives!

Doucette is Aging Gracefully
Friday, 18 February 2011

Doucette is aging very gracefully. Her arthritis appears to be a little better and the incontinence problem is under control, which is nice because it allows us to leave her indoors when running errands. We found out from x-rays that her pelvic and one of her front legs were broken sometime in the past. No telling of course what caused the broken bones. Most days that doesn't seem to slow her down. We did find out a few weeks ago that she's developing glaucoma and were told it is not operable, so we'll have to see how to make sure she can still get around.

Basically she's a great companion and it's been a good year. We call her Mike's mini me because she follows him everywhere... :)

We're attaching a couple of pictures from our trip to Montana and of her on one of her beds.

Lovely's New Life
Saturday, 12 February 2011

Update on 2/20/2011: Lovely (now Josey) and Sparky are really enjoying playing together and Josey seems like such a happy girl. She really learns fast, already housetrained, comes to her name, sits, lays down and shakes on command. Working on "roll over" and she’s almost got it every time.

I just wanted to send you a quick update on Lovely. Her trip back went very well and she was very calm throughout and very easy to travel with (other than carrying her in the travel crate, at 24 pounds).

She has adapted much quicker to all of the changes than we would have expected and really seems very happy in her new home. Other than one or two early nips while playing with Sparky (our whippet mix), with just a little correction, she really has behaved well and plays very nice with him. We just started an advanced (older puppy) obedience class at PetSmart and I think she’s going to do great. We’re making sure she’s getting good exercise and lots of play time as she continues to get used to her new environment and routine.

I really don’t think we could have ended up with a better dog. She is very sweet, with a touch of sassiness, and seems to be quite smart. I can’t really understand why she hadn’t been adopted earlier, but glad she wasn’t.

Thank you so much for all of your assistance and the good care you obviously provided to her over the last several months at the shelter. I’m sure not all dogs come out of other shelters in such good shape and I feel very fortunate that we were able to adopt her and have her in our lives.

We will follow up with you again soon and let you know more about her progression.

Thanks again for everything. Kind regards,

- Family: Eric
