Springtime at Dog and Kitty City
Dear Friends of the Shelter,
Springtime means puppy and kitten season! Although, oftentimes, this also means shelters are over capacity with kittens and puppies!
Your incredible support and help allows us to do so many amazing things and allows us to see amazing turnarounds with our most in need animals. There is never a shortage of dogs and cats who need our help, but we need funds in order to continue to provide for them and give them the care they need. With the support of friends and neighbors like you, we’ve been able to accomplish so much over the past year!

One of our special cases was Scarlett. She was found abandoned at our shelter with a note that her owner had passed and the family wasn’t capable of caring for her. She was often temperamental in shelter and could lash out unexpectedly. As such, she was not a high candidate for adoption. However, after 1,300 days in shelter, someone decided to give her a chance and took her to her forever home.
So often, animals in need of critical care are brought in to our shelter so that we can see to their needs in a place they can recover without fear of euthanizing because of their condition or to create space. Your dedication has provided that unique care to our most in need animals.
As a nonprofit organization, we completely rely on community support. None of our efforts would be possible without the help of donors, volunteers, and supportive community members like you.
We are so grateful for your continued partnership!
Sincerely,
Sandra Luhring
Shelter Director
