Mom Cats of Dog and Kitty City 2016

JUST IN TIME FOR MOTHER'S DAY, we're highlighting all the great mother cats awaiting adoption at Dog & Kitty City/HSDC. All of these furry moms arrived at our shelter doorstep with a litter of babies and some of them even did double duty nursing abandoned kittens that may have arrived as stragglers.

These lovely spayed moms are available for a special adoption fee of $50 during the month of May.

We're located at 2719 Manor Way, Dallas, TX 75235. Shelter hours are 11:45 AM - 5 PM, closed Tuesdays and holidays. Phone: 214-350-7387. Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Betha came to us as a mom of 2 kittens. She has been spayed and is ready for a home of her own!

Betha is extremely friendly and loves to play with toys. She loves to be pet by all the volunteers that come to visit and jump on a free lap. She would be great in a home with other cats, a calm dog, or children!

Danielle was found running at large -- nursing at large -- with her little brood of kittens. She came to us for help placing the kittens and finding her forever home.

This little beauty has a feisty spirit, but a great big loving heart. She will entertain you with affection and playfulness, if you just give her a chance.

Darlene and her kittens came to Dog & Kitty City from a kill shelter that could not take the tiny ones into their adoption program. Darlene was an outstanding mother. She raised her babies to be friendly and goofy. Darlene has a bit of the goofiness, too, and she often joined the gang in playtime and nap time. She loves to toss fuzzy mice around, bat plastic balls with bells inside, and swat at dangling feathers and string. Darlene also loves meeting new people, and she is pleased when she receives strokes and pats. She is a calm and quiet cat who will make as wonderful a companion as she has made a mother.

Georgia is currently not in shelter but in a foster home raising her babies! She loves to play and snuggle and would make the perfect house cat for any family once she is done taking care of her kittens!

Beautiful Gina was the loving mother of 4 kittens, found and fostered by a Dog & Kitty City volunteer and then brought to the shelter for adoption into forever homes. Gina is not only gorgeous, she has a sweet and gentle nature and would be happy in a home with children and other cats. She is still young at heart and wants to play like a kitten!

Pretty Heaven was rescued from a kill shelter, along with her three kittens. They have all moved on and now it is her turn to find a forever home.

She is a sweet girl, quiet and gentle. Likes nothing more than a gentle touch and a cozy spot to snuggle up with her human. Then, suddenly, she is off chasing shadows! She will put a smile on your face.

Pretty mom Karolyn was found at an apartment site with her little family in tow. They needed help so came to DKC for a better start on little lives. Her kittens have all been adopted so it is now Karolyn's turn.

Karolyn is sweet, sweet, sweet. She has lots of love to give and is still interested in playing if given the chance. She is a beauty -- inside and out -- always happy for a gentle touch and a peaceful nap in the sunshine.

Kitty was the mother of 4 adorable kittens. They lived in a foster home until ready for adoption. Kitty was an outstanding mom and would make an outstanding companion!

Kitty is very lovable, friendly and patient. She loves attention but does not like to be picked up too much. She wants to know what you are up to and will follow you around to make sure she does not miss a thing. She is also one talkative kitty and will chat with you when you talk with her. She comes when called and answers back with a meow.

Sweet Morgan was living under a dumpster at Irving mall with her mom, Marisol. She was a great mom but this was no place for a little girl to grow up. At first shy, Morgan was passed over for adoption as a kitten, but now she has turned into a "swan."

She is a brown tabby with gorgeous green eyes and a loving personality. Once she overcomes an initial shyness with new people, she is happy for attention. She's just looking for a lap to enjoy and to call her own.

Mylyla was born on 2/26/2014. She and her 5 babies were brought to Dog & Kitty City by a lady who surrendered them because she did not quite know what to do with all of the little ones.

Mylyla is a gorgeous bold calico/tortie with a striking face that would captivate anyone. She is a very friendly girl who loves attention and pets. She listens intently with her alert eyes when you talk to her and may give you a head butt, if she agrees with what you are saying. Mylyla is still a young kitty, and she likes to play, so please dangle a feather wand her way and engage her inner kitten!

Naomi is a loving girl and adores people! She is Feline Leukemia positive so she would need to be by herself or kept with another positive cat. She came in with four kittens and is ready to be someone's baby! She loves laps and playing with toys more than anything else!

Nova was born on 7/6/2012. She came to Dog & Kitty City with 3 kittens in October 2014. All of her babies were adopted, and Nova is ready for that forever home of her own.

Nova is a gorgeous dilute calico, and she knows it! She has a calico cattitude and is not shy at all. She needs a home where everyone is aware of her calico-ness and appreciates it. She is playful and active and full of energy. She is very smart and will keep her human family on their toes!

Oceana and her 3 kittens were rescued from a kill facility because they were too young for that facility's adoption program.

Oceana has a beautiful and unique coat and coloring. This gorgeous, one of a kind gal is smart, playful, curious and lovable. She plays joyfully with balls with bells inside, feather wands, and dangling stuffed mice. When she is ready to slow down and make herself available for tickles and pets, she flops over on her side. Oceana also lets you know when she is ready for food by raising a paw and staring directly into your eyes. She is ready for a home right now.

Sweet Ophelia was in a family way and found herself at animal services with four babies. Not a great start for their little lives. We rescued the family, and the kittens have all found forever homes.

Ophelia is a beautiful tuxedo cat with long white stockings on her hind legs and spats on her front feet. She knows her name and perks up when spoken to. She is ready to play or nap depending on her mood, but if you are ready to play, she will follow your lead. Ophelia has a calm demeanor, and she will make someone a loving companion.

Shadow Cat was born on 8/29/2014. She became a mom at 10 months of age! She and her 5 babies were raised in a foster home.

Shadow Cat is a beautiful black cat with an easygoing, calm and serene disposition. She gets along great with other cats and will have no problem adjusting to a home with another feline companion. She is young enough that she still enjoys playing with a feather wand or dangling do-dads and chasing the ever elusive red dot. Her purrfect forever home will have soft pillows and cushions thrown about for her catnapping enjoyment!

Trista was born on 8/22/2014. She was just a year old when she became a mother. Her kittens were all adopted. Trista is patiently waiting at the shelter for own loving, forever home.

Trista has a calm and loving nature, which made her the perfect mother. Once her kittens were weaned, she displayed her more independent spirit and enjoyed exploring all of the rooms of the shelter. She is ready to move on to her new forever home and explore those rooms! Will you be the one to give Trista this opportunity?

Willow came to the shelter when her three kittens were just one day old. She was a wonderfully loving mother. The three kittens landed safely in homes in January, and Willow is ready for a home of her own.

She is a charming girl with doe eyes and an expressive face; pretty and petite. Willow loves people but not dogs or cats. She would be fine for a family with children. She is a motorboat with a loud purr, and she makes sure you can hear it by sitting in your lap and placing her front paws on your shoulders, or riding around on your shoulders!

Xena was born on 4/2/12. She and her three kittens came to Dog & Kitty City in April 2014 from a kill shelter for a second chance for a loving home.

Xena is a petite little girl full of energy and crazy kitty antics. She is playful, inquisitive, and mischievous. She loves to chase the red laser dot and runs the length of the hall at the shelter and jumps up the wall to catch it. Once she has played to her heart's content, Xena loves a quick catnap in the sun on a comfortable cushion beside her human companion.
