Hello there! My name is Scout. I am loyal, kind, obedient, and brave. I was found on the streets in Dallas a few months ago with extremely matted fur. The kind folks at the shelter took me in and helped me, this made me very happy. I got a nice haircut, nail trim, vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. I need lots of attention, you could say I’m making up for lost time because I didn’t get much attention before I was found. I am a major lap dog and love back massages and being petted. Usually I will tell you when I need to go to the bathroom by jumping and barking at the door. Sometimes I forget though and have an accident. I am working on this and getting better all the time. I have also learned new words in the last few months, such as: sit, come, get down, no, and walk.
In my new home, I need people who are extremely patient with me. I’m still learning what it’s like to live in a loving home. I should live in a home with older kids or no kids. The new home should not have a high energy dog, or I could be the only dog of the home and get all the attention. I can’t be home more that 5 hours alone, otherwise I will have an accident, even in my crate.
I want my new home to be aware of a few quirks I have and help me to become the best dog ever. I am food aggressive. You can’t blame though, until now, I didn’t always have food available. Please don’t come up behind me while I’m eating. If I get into people food, or you try to scold me for anything, I have a loud reaction. I sometimes snarl or nip. I sadly haven’t found my forever home yet. Will you be my forever home? If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out the adoption application.
