McKinley and her brother and sister were brought to our shelter as very young pups. Both littermates have since been adopted, McKinley is still looking for a permanent home.

McKinley is a young Akita with a lot of energy and very playful. She is still a big puppy. She derives pleasure from a game of fetch. She retrieves balls and brings them back to you until you can no longer raise your arm above your head to throw the toy. Another pastime she enjoys is shredding stuffed animals. She loves getting into the water, especially this past summer, when she was small enough to fit in a wading pool. She has several canine friends at the shelter. They are all about her size.

She is looking for a family that has the time to give her a lot of attention. Her breed is totally devoted to her human companions. McKinley is very strong; therefore, children above eight to ten years of age would do best. She would benefit from some dog training. She is a sweet animal who would make someone a wonderful companion.
