SCOOTER
SPECIAL PET IN NEED OF AN EXTRA SPECIAL HOME
Scooter is a silver Schnauzer born in December 1997 and returned to Dog and Kitty City because he has become totally blind and his caretaker can no longer care for him. He had adopted him from our shelter two and a half years ago. Scooter has not been lucky so far in his life. He was originally brought to us when his second owner moved out of town and could not take him with her. (Already at that time he could only see shadows. He had developed juvenile cataracts at a very young age.) She had gotten him after Scooter's original guardian had passed away.
Once he knows the layout of the furniture in a home, he has no problem getting around. He requires a "seeing eye person" to take him on his daily walks. He is good with other dogs. We do not believe cats to be an issue.
He is again looking forward to settling into a routine with his new family. Due to his minor handicap, he would do best in a low activity home, or where children are older. Scooter is a very sweet, gentle dog and merits loving care. If someone out there is looking for a perfect companion, look no further, you have just found him.
